This redecoration proposal was made for the innovation department at Radiometer - a danish manufacturer of electronic laboratory equipment for hospitals and universities.
We worked a very small budget and therefore had to come up with some easy and creative solutions.
The first priority was to create a proper space/room for meetings and casual talk. It involved taking putting up some walls without disturbing the flow of the original architecture. Due to limited space we had to create multifunctional spaces, that could be used for different purposes at different times. Take a look at the downloadable pdf for an overview of the solution with meeting room, lounge- /displayarea, library and bar /kitchen.
The second priority was to do something about the sterile colors. We still had to keep the primary color (the strange blue) which was part of the original clor-scheme of the building where every floor has it's own color. The solution was to lighten it all up by painting a white pattern on the original color. The pattern is very tight with geometric shapes - which refers to the technology being developed. But at the same time we added some freshness with the falling drops and the random positioning of the geometric shapes - which gives the innovative feeling.
