Identity Design and Website for Local Art Gallery

Identity Design and Website for Local Art Gallery

—  web design · fine art exhibition · website · museum · identity design · responsive design

Kongegaarden is a local culture institution in Korsør and is the base of three associations: Korsør Kunstforening, Korsør Koncerterne and Isenstein Samlingen. We designed their new identity and website.
The biggest challenge was to present the 3 associations as independent but still make the institution appear as one whole with a unified identity.
The Solution was to separate the three associations by using the colors from their original logos - and of course it was obvious to incorporate the history of Kongegaarden as the place where th edanish kings slept before crossing the Great Belt - and therefore use a crown as the mark of the institution.
The strong colors that represents each association is used in the design of newspaper ads for Kongegaarden. The strong colors provides focus and readers quickly links the color with the right association. At the same Kongegaarden as a unified institution is communicated through the background-pattern, layout and logo.
The main focus on the website is naturally centered around all the different events at Kongegaarden. The website was developed in cooperation with Spang Media, who put a great effort into making a responsive webdesign which makes the website compatible with smartphones and tablets.
