City Bee Association Identity Brush Up

City Bee Association Identity Brush Up

—  visual identity · graphic design · web design · social enterprise · illustration

This spring we designed a new homepage and brushed up the identity for The City Bee Association of Copenhagen. Their concept is fantastic. They are a non-profit organisation and their agenda is to get the bees back into the city.
Oliver Maxwell from The City Bee Association contacted us and asked for a remake of their homepage and identity without abandoning their fresh and cute illustration style. We started with the fresh blue and orange colors used on the associations beehive foam boxes. Another central element in the identity is the bee with heart shaped wings. We redesigned the bee mark for use both in offline and online communication.
The focus of the homepage was to promote sponsors and to get new members of the association. We chose a nice little animated viral video as the central element of the hompage. The video briefly explains the agenda of The City Bee Association.
Other central elements of the web page are a big facebook button and a big 'become a member'-button and a sponsor logo slideshow. The first 3 months after launch the associations facebook likes rose from 750 to about 1.1k.
The logo type Ballpark Weiner was brought along from the original brochures and the old homepage and used as decorative elements on diplomas and t-shirts for members and partners. The identity font is Museo from the dutch type foundry Exljbris
