Bang and Olufsen Showroom

Bang and Olufsen Showroom

—  interior design · furniture · showroom · origami · lamps · hi-fi

We are proud to present the photos from the Bang and Olufsens new showroom at Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. We arranged the interiors in a light nordic look, which is a fresh take on the traditional heavy hi-fi interiors wich is the norm for Bang and Olufsens stores.
Store Manager Cecilie Winge contacted us for help with selection of furnitures for the new showroom. The assignment was to make product placement deals with preferrably danish furniture and interior manufacturers and to show the b&o products as they would look if placed in a living room with the title 'the intelligent home'.
Intuitively we looked for the newer brands in danish design and tried to work around the 'classics' as we wanted to show the b&o products in more colorfull and fresh surroundings than usual.
The center of the room is the 'In Duplo' Sofa (designed by Anne-mette Jensen and Morten Ernst) and two 'Eyes' chairs (designed by Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen) from Erik Jørgensen and two big 'color carpets' from Hay (designed by the Dutch duo Scholten & Baijings) - and then of course the new 65 inch flat screen TV from b&o: Beovision 12-65.
The first wall you notice when you enter the room is the wall with the 3 Origami's Hunter Lamps (Veronica Posada, Si Studio). Beneath the lamps there is a wooden oak sideboard. The pattern on the Wallpaper depicts animals in a visual language inspired by the the shapes of the origami lamps.
On the opposite wall we placed a cosy bio fire and 3 origami lamp shades from dutch Studio Snowpuppe. And under the TV we played with the colors of the nye montana cupboards with all clean fronts.
We also used ceramics from Kähler (Fidusia designed by Louise Campbell) and one of our up and coming ceramic favourites: Finnsdottir, who made the fantastic series Wallthing - whith shapes that is a cross-over between crystal vases and japaneese pop culture - what a mix!
The floor lamp and the unique coat hangers are from Gubi. The small sidetable is from &tradition and the marble tray is from Hay - and as nice final touch we had the suppliers logos laserengraved into a beautifull oak plank, which also serves as display for flyers with information about the project.
