Who We Are

WhatWeDo.dk started in 2008 as a blog and project showcase for graphic designer and architect couple Tobias & Hanne Scheel Mikkelsen. Earlier this year(2010) we joined forces with art director Caroline to step up the game and be able to offer a complete range of professional design solutions. With our different skill sets we form a strong team who can serve the customers in the best way posssible. We believe in the simplicity of scandinavian design but are not afraid to spice things up a bit!
Hanne has a bachelor in architecture from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She has made several spare time interior decoration projects for private apartments, has recieved a scholar-ship by recommendation of Professor Tage Lyneborg, and worked on a prize-winning interior project for Royal Copenhagen during her internship at Dorte Mandrup Architects.
Tobias has been freelancing as a commercial illustrator since 2001 for clients like TDC, Nokia and GlaxoSmithKline, holds a bachelors degree in graphic design from The Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark, and is a web nerd in his spare time – hence the nice homepage.
Caroline is a graduate from the Kunstakademie Minerva in Groningen, The Netherlands and like Tobias, she also holds a bachelors degree in graphic design from The Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark. Caroline is active in theater and arts projects and sports funky ideas and crazy thoughts in her spare time! She has 2 years of work experience as art director and graphic designer at the branding bureau Content CPH.

What We Do

We offer concepting, execution and production planning in a number of visual disciplines like spatial design, product design, small scale architecture, interior decoration, graphic design, webdesign, GUI design, identity design, advertising campaigns, illustration, information graphics and graphic patterns.
Our design solutions are custom-made and regardless of size and type, we always start by defining the core-problem by asking the right questions. When the core-problem has been identified we move forward to a colourfull idea-generation process - ending up with a tight and 'on-the-spot' concept. The final concept is presented along with budgets and detailed planning of the execution.
Our executions are always crafted with a 100% dedication and attention to detail, either by us or in close co-operation with external handpicked creatives/consultants for the best results. During execution we look towards current visual trends whithout loosing sight of the overall concept and we always strive to deliver a little more than what we're asked - because we love what we do!

The Concept of This Website

In the Design Cases section you will find documentation of our work and work related hobby projects as a kind of portfolio written in blog-style, but we also write design case stories about trends or things that inspires us.
The Inspiration Links and Photo Blog sections is a sort of inspiration archive with links and visuals from all over the internet. We use these inspiration archives as reference and creative inspiration in future projects.
