I must admit that quirky neon-signs and retro lettering makes me stop stop and stare (and take a few photos). Here's some signs I photographed during a trip to the US back in 1999.
I travelled the west coast and the desert states, where there is an amazing scenery for a road-trip: raw nature in dusty earth colors, lots of sunny days and last, but not least: an abundance of cool retro signs.
All the photos, except the last two was taken on that trip. The last two photos are from Copenhagen, Denmark. They were taken in 2000 just after returning to Denmark.
Check out my flickr-set at Signs - a set on Flickr for more recent signs and locations of the US signs!
And while you're at it here's some flickr-pools on signage and vintage signage that's worth checking out:
Motel & Hotel Signs
Vintage Motel Signs
Ghost Signs
I Love Old Signs
Vacuum Formed Signs
